A very unusual and striking set made by Shelley circa 1925 - 1940. Please see the description below for more information.
Out of stock.
This fine bone china was made by the Shelly factory, Longton, Staffordshire between 1925 and 1940.
This china doesn't have a pattern name stamped on it and I have called it "Country Lane" as it depicts a typical English country lane! I would describe this as very art deco in style. The pieces are white and are edged with a striking orange colour and have orange handles. Some of the pieces feature a blue butterfly and some have a red butterfly. This is a very unusual set.
Unfortunately we don't have a sugar bowl for this set and so it includes six teacups, saucers and tea plates, a pretty milk jug and a large cake or sandwich plate.
All items are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. The pieces are all marked with a number 2 and so these may be seconds.
